When is the difference between JPEG and PSD format?
- Jpeg is a 'lossy' format; each time save a jpeg it loses some quality. It produces a smaller compressed file but the layers will become flattened into a single layer.
- Saving as a PSD keeps the layers in tact, allowing you to make additional modifications to either the original file or the modified PSD, but the file size is much larger.
