Lesson 4 - Cropping a photograph continued.

Practice Exercise:
  • Open OriginalImage1.jpg and use it to practice the method demonstrated in the video lesson.
  • Practice this method of cropping photographs on some of your own images. Remember to use the 'Save As' option when saving your amended image so that the original file is left untouched. Save the adjusted images in the folder called 'EditedImages'.
  • A word of caution anytime you save a jpeg you lose some quality.
JPGS are considered a 'lossy' file format because of the way it compresses an image. Your image degenerates every time you save. If you plan to do a lot of work on an image save the file as a Photoshop .psd file until you are ready to print the file and you have made the final adjustments to the image, then save as a .jpg file.

Remember you can click the P.D.F button to save / print this tutorial.
In the next lesson we will learn how to 'crop' an image using the 'rule of thirds'.
