Practice Exercise:
- Open OriginalImage1.jpg and use it to practice the method demonstrated in the video lesson.
- Practice this method of cropping an image using the 'rule of thirds' on some of your images.
- Remember to use the Save As option when saving your amended image so that the original file is left untouched. Save the adjusted images in the folder called 'EditedImages'.
- A word of caution anytime you save a jpeg you lose some quality. JPGS are considered a 'lossy' file format because of the way it compresses an image - your image degenerates every time you save. If you plan to do a lot of work on an image save the file as a Photoshop .psd file until you are ready to print the file and you have made the final adjustments to the image, then save as a .jpg file.
In the next lesson we will learn how to 'crop' an image to a specific size.
